Position Overview
Job Description
Primary Function of Position:
Under general supervision from the Senior Manager MX Trade Compliance, the Trade Compliance Analyst becomes responsible for applying trade compliance practices and policies within the business, identifying areas where they are out of compliance, and offering suggestions for how to make necessary modifications. This requires regular review and research into governing authorities’ current rules and regulations. including but not limited to data collection, data analysis, continuous improvement, processes efficiency, process planning standardization, projects development, and automation among others all Trade Compliance operation’s related activities and initiatives, including but not limited to data collection, data analysis, continuous improvement, processes efficiency, processes standardization, projects development, among others.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Upload the information related with part numbers, value, CoO, MX HTS & US HTS, description in English and Spanish, ECCN, Schedule B on Customs Inventory system.
- Implement and maintain a document retention program regarding trade compliance.
- Receive the NPSU from Customs Dept with COE's information and Customs broker classification and regulations.
- Analyze customs data to identify patterns, irregularities, and compliance risks.
- Create dashboards and reporting tools for customs operations and management teams.
- Support audits and investigations by providing detailed data analysis and summaries.
- Set up the code for Carta Porte for all the operations.
- Evaluate the complete and accurate information between Customs Inventory system, DataStage (SAT) and customs broker.
- Develop and refine data analytics models to forecast trends and optimize customs processes.
- Design and implement various reports and prepare dashboards.
- Review, update and keep the maintenance for the customs inventory system (annex 24).
- Review changes or new internal processes to assess impact of import export operation.
- Basic knowledge of requirements for import or Export process (R8, NOM, Others).
- Keep up to date IMMEX program files and reports required by government authorities.
- Use the goods temporarily imported under the Program for the purposes for which they were authorized.
- Reviewing and verifying trade documents such as invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, permits, among others.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders like suppliers, customers, customs brokers, service providers and consultants.
- Analyze customs tariffs & duty rate.
- Collaborate with other departments as required (FTA, Logistics, procurement, engineering, etc.)
- Support management to develop/Implement initiatives to improve department KPI's.
- Assist manager with projects associated with trade compliance functions as required.
Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:
- Bachelor’s degree in Foreign Trade, Logistics, Supply Chain, Lawyer, Engineer or related field.
- General knowledge of Customs Legal Frame.
- Beginner & Intermediate Excel/ Microsoft Office Applications.
- Experience in data analytics model creation. (desire)
- Proficiency in data analytics tools (Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, etc.). (desire)
- Demonstrate continuous improvement efforts to enhance compliance, efficiency, and cost.
- Able to identify issues on the customs operations or assist a stakeholder that has interaction day to day.
- Collaborate with internal partners on the findings that may impact trade compliance policy.
- Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situation or data from which answers can be readily obtained.
Knowledge required:
- Capabilities for a critical analysis
- Data Analytics knowledge and experience are desired.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English (oral and written).
- High ethical standards
- Detail oriented and highly organized with ability to multi-task, including a demonstrated ability to drive decision-making in a fast-paced environment with on-demand requests.
- Ability to write, speak, and present effectively and persuasively at all levels.

La compensación se basará principalmente en el nivel del puesto en el que se cubra el rol y en las cualificaciones del candidato o la candidata, de conformidad con la legislación aplicable.
