BLC Robert & Associates, Mauritius's largest law firm (Chambers Band 1), offers a 12-month paid Pupillage in its market-leading Global Business practice at its Port Louis and Ebene Cybercity offices. Pupillage (stage) at BLC Robert is the most sought-after training position in the Mauritian legal profession, providing the foundation for admission to the Mauritius Bar Council as a Barrister.

Pupils will assist with GBC structuring under the Financial Services Act 2007, treaty-based investment planning under the Mauritius-India DTAA, and FSC licensing applications — working alongside Mauritius's most senior Global Business Barristers. The Pupillage includes a structured rotation through BLC Robert's corporate, banking, and litigation departments, providing a comprehensive foundation in Mauritius's mixed legal system.

• Assist Barristers with GBC structuring and licensing applications under the Financial Services Act 2007
• Research tax treaty issues under the Mauritius-India DTAA and Africa treaty network
• Draft basic corporate documents, board resolutions, and compliance filings
• Rotate through BLC Robert's corporate, banking, and litigation practice groups
• Attend court proceedings at the Supreme Court of Mauritius and regulatory hearings
• Prepare research memoranda on Mauritius financial services regulatory developments

• LL.B. from the University of Mauritius, University of London, or equivalent recognised institution
• Strong academic record in corporate law, commercial law, and international law
• Interest in Global Business, tax structuring, and financial services law
• Knowledge of the Financial Services Act 2007 and Companies Act 2001
• Bilingual English and French required (both are legal languages of Mauritius)
• Commitment to the full 12-month Pupillage duration
• No prior professional legal experience required
