Government Legal Internship — Abu Dhabi Judicial Department
The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) offers a structured 3-month paid legal internship for UAE nationals as part of Abu Dhabi's Emiratisation and youth development objectives. Based at the main courthouse on Al Salam Street, Abu Dhabi.
Programme Details
- Duration: 3 months (multiple intakes in 2026)
- Compensation: AED 4,000/month stipend
- Status: Paid government internship with structured mentoring
What You Will Do
- Rotate through civil, criminal, and commercial court divisions
- Observe trials, sentencing hearings, and appellate proceedings
- Assist legal researchers with case analysis and judicial memorandum preparation
- Learn about the UAE's court administration and judicial modernisation programmes
- Participate in workshops on judicial ethics, court procedure, and legal drafting

This internship is part of ADJD's commitment to developing the next generation of Emirati legal professionals. Successful interns may be considered for permanent positions as legal researchers or prosecutors.

Requirements
- UAE national (Emirati) — mandatory
- Currently enrolled in an LLB or Sharia & Law programme at a UAE university
- Strong Arabic language skills — essential (court proceedings are in Arabic)
- English language proficiency
- Minimum GPA of 2.5/4.0 or equivalent
- Students from UAE University Faculty of Law, University of Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi University are particularly encouraged
