Internship Description
Schoenherr Sofia offers a summer internship in EU Law & Regulatory Affairs for law students with a strong interest in European legal issues. Interns will work alongside experienced practitioners on matters related to EU internal market law, regulatory compliance, and Bulgaria's implementation of EU directives. The program includes structured training, cross-office exposure, and mentorship from the firm's EU law specialists.
Responsibilities
Researching EU regulations and their transposition into Bulgarian legislation; Assisting with preparation of regulatory submissions and compliance assessments; Monitoring EU legislative developments relevant to the firm's practice areas; Preparing research memos on EU internal market, competition, and sectoral regulation topics; Assisting with client presentations and legal briefings; Attending Schoenherr's internal EU law seminars and webinars; Participating in cross-office knowledge-sharing sessions with other CEE offices.
Requirements
Currently enrolled in years III-V of a Law degree or pursuing an LL.M. in EU Law; Strong academic interest in European Union law and institutions; Basic knowledge of EU Treaty provisions, internal market freedoms, and EU legislative process; Grade average of minimum 5.00/6.00; Fluent English required; German is a strong plus; Available for minimum 20 hours per week for 3 months.
