Internship Description
Judicial Staj Intern — Council of State (Danistay), Ankara
The Council of State (Danistay) accepts staj interns from Turkish law faculties as part of the mandatory court staj component of the legal traineeship. Staj interns at the Danistay observe the work of Turkey's highest administrative court, assisting rapporteur judges with case research and gaining exposure to administrative justice at the highest level.
Key Responsibilities
- Observe Danistay chamber hearings and deliberations on administrative law cases
- Assist rapporteur judges (tetkik hakimi) with legal research on administrative law questions
- Review case files including administrative court decisions under appeal
- Research topics in administrative law, tax law, and urban planning law
- Attend Danistay educational seminars and judicial training events
- Prepare a staj completion report summarizing key learnings and case observations

Requirements
- Currently completing staj and registered with the Ankara Bar Association or another Turkish Bar Association
- LLB from a recognized Turkish law faculty
- Interest in administrative law, public law, and constitutional law
- Good academic record
- Fluent Turkish
- Available for the court staj period (typically 3-6 months at the Danistay)
