Internship Description
Jadek & Pensa invites applications for a Legal Intern to join our Corporate & M&A practice in Ljubljana. This internship provides hands-on experience in one of Slovenia's top-ranked law firms, working alongside leading M&A practitioners on domestic and cross-border transactions.
As an intern, you will gain practical experience with the Zakon o gospodarskih družbah (ZGD-1, Companies Act), Zakon o prevzemih (ZPre-1, Takeover Act), and corporate transaction processes. This internship is designed for law students or recent graduates pursuing their Odvetniški kandidat (trainee lawyer) period under the Zakon o odvetništvu (ZOdv, Attorneys Act).
Responsibilities
Assist with legal due diligence on M&A transactions, including document review and analysis. Research Slovenian corporate law and EU regulatory requirements for transactions. Draft preliminary memoranda on corporate governance and shareholder matters. Support the team with preparing transaction documentation and closing checklists. Attend client meetings and gain exposure to transaction management.
Requirements
Current enrollment in or recent completion of Magister prava program at a recognized Slovenian university. Strong academic record in corporate law, commercial law, or EU law. Knowledge of ZGD-1 (Companies Act) fundamentals. Proficiency in Slovenian and English. Strong research and writing skills.
