Legal Intern - Energy & Sustainability

Petrol d.d. offers a Legal Internship in our Energy & Sustainability legal team at our Ljubljana headquarters. Petrol is Slovenia's largest energy company, undergoing a major green transition, and this internship provides unique exposure to energy law, environmental regulation, and ESG legal advisory at a publicly listed company.

You will gain practical experience with the Energetski zakon (EZ-1, Energy Act), Zakon o varstvu okolja (ZVO-2, Environmental Protection Act), and EU energy and climate legislation. The internship covers renewable energy project development, carbon trading, and sustainability reporting, offering a forward-looking perspective on energy law careers.

Assist with legal research on energy regulation, renewable energy incentives, and EU climate legislation. Support the team in reviewing energy supply contracts and project documentation. Help track Slovenian and EU regulatory developments affecting the energy sector. Draft preliminary analysis on environmental compliance matters. Attend internal meetings on Petrol's green transition and ESG strategy.

Current enrollment in or recent completion of Magister prava at a recognized university. Interest in energy law, environmental law, or sustainability. Knowledge of EZ-1 (Energy Act) or ZVO-2 (Environmental Protection Act) fundamentals. Proficiency in Slovenian and English. Motivated and proactive approach to learning.
