Legal Intern — Islamic Finance at Yusof Halim & Partners

Yusof Halim & Partners is offering a paid 3-month internship in its Islamic banking and finance practice in Bandar Seri Begawan. This internship offers unique exposure to Syariah-compliant transaction structuring, Islamic banking documentation, and regulatory compliance work for one of Brunei's leading Islamic finance law firms.

What You Will Learn

• Assist in drafting Syariah-compliant banking documentation including murabahah and ijarah agreements
• Research Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh muamalat) principles applicable to financial products
• Support the team in reviewing takaful documentation and regulatory submissions
• Attend Syariah Advisory Board meetings and observe product approval processes
• Gain exposure to the Islamic Banking Order 2008 and BDCB regulatory framework
• Research international Islamic finance standards (AAOIFI and IFSB)

Duration: 3 months (paid internship — BND 700/month)

• Support the Islamic finance team on documentation and research
• Attend client and regulatory meetings
• Conduct research on Syariah compliance and Islamic finance standards

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a law or Syariah law degree programme at UBD, UNISSA, IIUM, or equivalent
• Interest in Islamic finance and Syariah-compliant transactions
• Basic understanding of Islamic banking products and terminology
• Good research and writing skills in English and Malay
