Internship Description
Legal Intern (Staj) — Banking Law — Israel Discount Bank, Tel Aviv
Israel Discount Bank (IDB) offers a staj (legal internship/articles) position in its Legal Department on Yehuda Halevi Street, Tel Aviv. The IDB staj provides hands-on experience in banking law, financial regulation, and commercial litigation at one of Israel's three largest banks.
What You Will Do
- Assist on commercial lending documentation including loan agreements, guarantees, and security packages
- Support the compliance team on AML reviews, sanctions screening, and Bank of Israel regulatory matters
- Draft legal opinions, internal memoranda, and contract summaries for bank business units
- Assist with litigation management including coordination of debt recovery proceedings in Israeli execution offices (Hotza'a LaPoal)
- Research banking regulatory questions under the Banking Ordinance 1941 and Bank of Israel directives
- Attend internal legal training sessions and bank-wide professional development programs

Requirements
- LLB from a recognized Israeli law faculty with strong academic results
- Interest in banking law, financial regulation, and commercial law
- Strong Hebrew writing and analytical skills
- English proficiency required
- Eligible for staj registration with the Israel Bar Association
- Prior experience in financial services or accounting is valued
