Maritime Law Internship — Clyde & Co Middle East
Clyde & Co is offering a 2-month paid summer internship within our maritime and shipping practice in DIFC, Dubai. This is a unique opportunity to experience maritime law in one of the world's busiest shipping regions.
Programme Details
- Duration: 2 months (Summer 2026)
- Compensation: AED 3,500/month stipend
- Status: Paid internship
What You Will Do
- Research UAE maritime law and international shipping conventions
- Assist with ship arrest applications and cargo claim documentation
- Draft research notes on charterparty disputes and bill of lading issues
- Visit Jebel Ali Port and JAFZA to understand port operations and legal framework
- Attend client meetings with shipping companies, P&I clubs, and port operators

Requirements
- Law student in penultimate or final year, or recent LLB/LLM graduate
- Interest in maritime law, shipping, or international trade
- Strong English language skills essential
- Knowledge of Hague-Visby Rules or maritime conventions is advantageous but not required
- Available for full-time hours during the internship
- Eligible to work in the UAE (valid student visa, residence visa, or UAE national)
