Job Description
Ferrere Ecuador seeks an Associate for its Real Estate & Construction practice in Guayaquil. Ecuador's booming construction sector, particularly in Guayaquil and the coastal region, creates strong demand for legal services in property transactions, construction contracts, and urban development projects.
The role involves advising developers, construction companies, and real estate funds on acquisitions, FIDIC-based construction contracts, property registration before the Registro de la Propiedad, and municipal zoning compliance.
Responsibilities
- Conducting property due diligence and title searches at the Registro de la Propiedad
- Drafting and negotiating real estate purchase agreements and lease contracts
- Advising on construction contracts, including FIDIC-based agreements and subcontracts
- Handling property disputes and construction claims before Guayaquil civil courts
- Advising on municipal zoning regulations and building permits
Requirements
- Título de Abogado from a recognised Ecuadorian university
- 3-5 years of experience in real estate, construction, or property law
- Knowledge of the Código Civil provisions on property and the Ley de Propiedad Horizontal
- Experience with property due diligence and Registro de la Propiedad procedures
- Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and construction dispute resolution
- English proficiency an advantage
