Asociado Senior — Derecho de Competencia y Regulatorio

Ferrere Ecuador, part of the Ferrere network across Latin America, seeks a Senior Associate for its Competition & Regulatory practice in Quito. Ecuador's competition framework is enforced by the Superintendencia de Control del Poder de Mercado (SCPM) under the Ley Orgánica de Regulación y Control del Poder de Mercado.

The role involves advising on merger control filings, abuse of dominance investigations, cartel defence, and regulatory proceedings before the SCPM and sector-specific regulators. Ferrere's regional platform offers cross-border competition work across the Andean region.

• Advising on merger control notifications and obtaining SCPM clearance
• Defending clients in abuse of dominance and cartel investigations
• Handling appeals of SCPM decisions before the Tribunal Distrital de lo Contencioso Administrativo
• Advising on compliance programmes and competition risk assessments
• Coordinating with Ferrere offices on regional competition matters in Uruguay, Paraguay, and Bolivia

• Título de Abogado from a recognised Ecuadorian university
• 6-9 years of experience in competition law, regulatory, or antitrust
• Expert knowledge of the Ley Orgánica de Regulación y Control del Poder de Mercado
• Experience with SCPM merger notifications and dawn raids
• Understanding of sector-specific regulation (telecoms, energy, financial services)
• Fluent English for regional coordination within the Ferrere network
