Job Description
A&O Shearman Bratislava is seeking an Associate for its Banking and Finance practice. You will advise leading Slovak and international banks on syndicated loan facilities, structured finance, and regulatory matters under Národná banka Slovenska (NBS) supervision from our Bratislava city centre office.
This role involves drafting complex finance documentation governed by Slovak law, including security packages over Slovak real estate and movable assets. You will collaborate closely with A&O Shearman offices across Europe on cross-border financing transactions. Slovakia's EUR-denominated market provides unique opportunities in CEE project finance.
Responsibilities
Draft and negotiate loan agreements, security documents, and intercreditor agreements under Slovak law. Advise on regulatory requirements for financial institutions supervised by NBS. Support structured finance and project finance transactions in the Slovak market. Coordinate with international counsel on cross-border financing. Provide Slovak law legal opinions for financing transactions.
Requirements
SAK-registered Advokát or advokátsky koncipient with 3-5 years of banking and finance experience. Strong knowledge of Slovak banking regulations and NBS requirements. Experience with loan documentation and security interests under the Občiansky zákonník. Fluent Slovak and English required.
