Rojs, Peljhan, Prelesnik & Partners, a leading Slovenian business law firm, is recruiting an Associate for our Banking & Finance practice in Ljubljana. You will advise banks, financial institutions, and corporate borrowers on financing transactions, regulatory compliance, and debt restructurings in the Slovenian market.
The role involves working with the Zakon o bancnistvu (ZBan-3, Banking Act), Zakon o financnem poslovanju, postopkih zaradi insolventnosti in prisilnem prenehanju (ZFPPIPP, Financial Operations Act), and EU banking regulations. You will support clients in dealings with Banka Slovenije (Bank of Slovenia) and draft documentation for syndicated loans, bond issuances, and structured finance products.
Responsibilities
Draft and negotiate loan agreements, security packages, and intercreditor agreements under Slovenian law. Advise on regulatory compliance with Banka Slovenije requirements and ZBan-3. Support acquisition finance and project finance transactions in Slovenia and the region. Conduct legal research on Slovenian and EU financial regulation, including Basel III/IV transposition. Assist partners with client relationship management across the banking sector.
Requirements
Magister prava from a recognized Slovenian or EU university. 3-5 years of experience in banking and finance law. Strong knowledge of ZBan-3 (Banking Act) and EU banking regulations. Experience with Banka Slovenije regulatory matters. Fluent in Slovenian and English.
