Associate — Employment & Labour Law

Dentons Caracas seeks an Associate for its Employment & Labour Law practice. You will advise on Venezuelan labour relations, employment contracts, and workforce restructurings under the Organic Labour Law (LOTTT — Ley Orgánica del Trabajo, los Trabajadores y las Trabajadoras).

Key Responsibilities

• Advise on hiring, termination, and severance under the LOTTT and its regulations
• Draft employment contracts, confidentiality agreements, and non-compete clauses compliant with Venezuelan law
• Represent employers before the Inspectoría del Trabajo (Labour Inspectorate) in administrative proceedings
• Advise on collective bargaining agreements and union relations
• Handle employment litigation before Venezuelan Labour Courts (Tribunales del Trabajo)

• Manage a portfolio of employment advisory and litigation matters
• Conduct employment due diligence for M&A transactions
• Prepare internal policies and employee handbooks compliant with LOTTT
• Monitor legislative changes and update clients on labour law reforms

• Law degree (Abogado) from a Venezuelan university
• Registered with the Inpreabogado
• 3-5 years post-qualification experience in Venezuelan employment and labour law
• Fluent in Spanish; English proficiency preferred
• Strong knowledge of the LOTTT and Venezuelan social security regulations (IVSS, INCES, FAOV)
