Job Description
Clayton Utz's Brisbane office at 1 Eagle Street is seeking an Associate for its Environment & Planning practice. Brisbane services Queensland's significant mining, energy, and infrastructure sectors, and you will advise on environmental approvals, planning permits, and climate-related regulatory obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on environmental approvals under the EPBC Act 1999 and Queensland Environmental Protection Act 1994
- Handle planning and development applications under the Planning Act 2016 (Qld)
- Support renewable energy project approvals and grid connection agreements
- Advise on climate-related disclosure obligations and ESG regulatory frameworks
Requirements
- Admitted as a solicitor in Queensland; 3-5 years PQE in environment, planning, or resources
- Knowledge of EPBC Act, Qld EPA, and Planning Act 2016
- Experience with Land Court or P&E Court proceedings preferred
- Interest in climate law and ESG regulation
