Job Description
HSF's Perth office at QV1, 250 St Georges Terrace is seeking an Associate for its top-ranked Resources & Energy practice. Perth is Australia's mining capital, and you will advise on some of the world's largest iron ore, lithium, and LNG projects for major resources companies operating in the Pilbara, Goldfields, and offshore North West Shelf.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate mining services agreements, joint venture agreements, and offtake contracts
- Advise on mining leases and tenement management under the WA Mining Act 1978
- Handle environmental approvals under the EPBC Act 1999 and WA Environmental Protection Act
- Support major project acquisitions, farm-in agreements, and royalty arrangements
Requirements
- Admitted as a solicitor in Western Australia (or eligible for admission)
- 3-5 years PQE in resources, energy, or projects
- Knowledge of WA Mining Act 1978 and Native Title Act 1993
- Commercial approach and ability to work under deal pressure
