Associate — Environmental Law

Dentons Munoz Guatemala is seeking an Associate for its Environmental Law practice in Guatemala City. You will advise on environmental compliance, impact assessments, and sustainability matters under the Ley de Proteccion y Mejoramiento del Medio Ambiente and MARN regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) before MARN
• Advise on environmental licensing and compliance for industrial and agricultural operations
• Handle environmental disputes and administrative proceedings before MARN
• Advise on climate change regulations, carbon credits, and renewable energy frameworks
• Draft environmental compliance programs for multinational clients

• Manage a portfolio of environmental compliance and advisory matters
• Coordinate with MARN officials on environmental approvals and inspections
• Draft environmental due diligence reports for M&A transactions
• Support clients on ESG reporting and sustainability initiatives

• Licenciatura en Ciencias Juridicas y Sociales from a recognised university
• Colegiado activo with the Colegio de Abogados y Notarios de Guatemala
• 3-5 years post-qualification experience in environmental or natural resources law
• Fluent in Spanish and English
• Knowledge of the Ley de Proteccion y Mejoramiento del Medio Ambiente and MARN regulations
