Associate — General Practice

Arias Guatemala is expanding its regional presence and seeks an Associate for its Quetzaltenango (Xela) office. You will handle a broad range of commercial, real estate, and civil matters for businesses and clients in Guatemala's western highlands, the country's second-largest economic region.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise local businesses on commercial contracts, company formations, and corporate governance
• Handle real estate transactions and land title matters at the Segundo Registro de la Propiedad
• Represent clients before the Juzgados de Primera Instancia in Quetzaltenango
• Advise on agricultural and coffee industry commercial agreements
• Provide labour law advisory for employers in the western highlands

• Manage a diverse caseload for regional clients
• Build the firm's presence in Guatemala's western highlands
• Coordinate with the Guatemala City headquarters on complex matters
• Develop client relationships with Quetzaltenango-based businesses

• Licenciatura en Ciencias Juridicas y Sociales from a recognised university
• Colegiado activo with the Colegio de Abogados y Notarios de Guatemala
• 3-5 years post-qualification experience in general commercial practice
• Fluent in Spanish; English proficiency preferred; K'iche' language skills a plus
• Willingness to be based in Quetzaltenango
