Job Description

Cleary Gottlieb's Paris office near the Arc de Triomphe in the 8th arrondissement is recruiting an Avocat for its EU and French Competition Law (Droit de la concurrence) practice. You will work on major antitrust investigations, merger control proceedings, and state aid cases before the European Commission and the Autorite de la concurrence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on EU and French competition law compliance including Articles 101 and 102 TFEU
  • Handle merger control notifications before the Autorite de la concurrence and European Commission
  • Represent clients in dawn raids and antitrust investigations
  • Draft competition law compliance programs for multinational corporations
  • Advise on state aid rules and sector-specific regulation

Requirements

  • Master 2 in Competition/EU Law from a leading European university
  • Barreau de Paris admission or qualification in an EU Member State
  • 3-6 years PQE in competition law
  • Fluent French, English, and ideally a third EU language
  • Experience with the European Commission or Autorite de la concurrence preferred
