Competition Law Associate — Esin Attorney Partnership (Baker McKenzie), Istanbul

Esin Attorney Partnership, the Turkish member firm of Baker McKenzie, is hiring a Competition Law Associate to join its market-leading competition practice in Levent. The role involves advising multinational and domestic clients on Turkish and EU competition law, merger control, cartel investigations, and Competition Board proceedings.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare merger notification filings for the Turkish Competition Board (Rekabet Kurulu) under Competition Law No. 4054
• Advise clients on dawn raid preparedness, leniency applications, and cartel defense
• Conduct competition compliance audits and training programs for multinational corporations
• Analyze abuse of dominant position complaints and prepare responses to Competition Authority investigations
• Monitor Turkish Competition Board decisions and EU competition law developments relevant to Turkish clients
• Draft settlement submissions and represent clients in oral hearings before the Competition Board
• Collaborate with Baker McKenzie's global antitrust team on multi-jurisdictional merger filings

• Active avukat license registered with the Istanbul Bar Association
• 3-6 years of competition law experience at a reputable law firm or the Competition Authority
• Strong knowledge of Competition Law No. 4054, secondary legislation, and Competition Board precedent
• Familiarity with EU competition law (Articles 101 and 102 TFEU) and merger control regulations
• LLB from a leading Turkish university; LLM in competition law or EU law is a plus
• Fluent Turkish and English; ability to draft legal memoranda in both languages
• Analytical mindset with strong economic reasoning skills
