Contracts Manager – Data Centres and Mission Critical
Position Overview
Job Description
- Responsible for ensuring all contractual requirements are met according to the terms and conditions.
- Executes procurement contracting strategies for large, complex data center construction projects and/or purchasing opportunities to achieve optimal cost and continuity of supply and services.
- Serve as first line of defense/communication with site stakeholders on commercial issues.
- Execute project closeout requirements.
- Perform prequalification checks on potential tenderers and onboard them to the client’s systems.
- Critically appraise contracts documents to ensure requisite quality of the package prior to RFP / Contract.
- Issue the Request for Proposal (RFP) and arrange chair and minute meetings with the client stakeholders through the tender process utilizing trackers to assure delivery of tasks by internal and external parties within timescales agreed with the client’s senior leadership.
- Draft contract documents and manage the execution of the contract between the client and the contractor.
- Review and advise the client on all contractual notices during the post-contract build and defects phases drafting responses for the Contract Administrator, including but not limited to:
From Contractor:
- Variation claims and Extension of Time claims.
- Requests for Information.
- Applications for Sectional or Final Completion certificates.
- Application for End of Defects Certificate.
- Final Account negotiations.
- Disputed claims – Advise client on contractual process for dispute resolution.From Client:
- Experience of creating PowerPoint slides and verbally presenting in a very concise manner, in person and via video call, to effectively communicate proposals to the client stakeholders and senior management allowing informed decision to me made.
- Professional/tertiary qualification in engineering or construction.
- Minimum 3 - 5 years' experience in procurement and contracts management or construction project management, preferably gained within a Data Centre or similar technical environment.
- Qualifications in project management preferred e.g. RICS.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A thorough understanding of the total project life cycle, from project inception stage, design, authority approvals through to construction completion and post-project review.
- Excellent knowledge and experience of the main project management concepts, tools and techniques.
- Ability to thrive in a high pressure, fast paced environment.
- Advanced Microsoft skills are essential, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word etc.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English with excellent PowerPoint and report writing skills.
- Highly motivated and driven with a passion for delivering to your client
