Job Description
DLA Piper Panama seeks an Energy and Infrastructure Projects Associate to work on power generation, renewable energy, and public-private partnership (PPP) projects. Panama's growing energy demand and infrastructure investment pipeline create excellent opportunities for transactional lawyers in this space.
Responsibilities
Draft and negotiate concession agreements, PPAs, and EPC contracts. Advise on regulatory approvals from ASEP and environmental agencies. Support project finance transactions including bond issuances and bank lending. Conduct due diligence on energy and infrastructure assets. Coordinate with government agencies on PPP procurement processes.
Requirements
Licenciatura en Derecho. 3-5 years of experience in project finance, energy, or infrastructure law. Knowledge of Panama's Ley de Contrataciones Públicas and PPP framework. Familiarity with ASEP (energy regulator) requirements. Bilingual Spanish/English required.
