Energy & Mining Senior Associate — DFDL Cambodia, Daun Penh, Phnom Penh

DFDL Cambodia is seeking a Senior Associate for its Energy and Mining practice in Phnom Penh. Cambodia is developing its oil and gas resources, expanding hydropower capacity, and attracting investment in renewable energy. You will advise on exploration and production agreements, power purchase agreements, and mining concessions under the Petroleum Law (1991), Electricity Law (2001), and Law on Mineral Resource Management (2001).

This role is ideal for a lawyer passionate about natural resources and energy transition in a frontier market.

• Advise on petroleum exploration and production contracts with the Cambodian National Petroleum Authority
• Draft and negotiate power purchase agreements, concession agreements, and renewable energy contracts
• Advise on mining licence applications, renewals, and compliance with the Mineral Resource Management Law
• Conduct legal due diligence on energy and mining assets for investors and lenders
• Support project finance transactions for hydropower, solar, and wind energy projects
• Monitor regulatory developments in Cambodia's energy and extractive sectors

• 6-9 years' PQE in energy, mining, or natural resources law
• Admitted to the BAKC or eligible for admission
• Knowledge of the Petroleum Law, Electricity Law, Law on Mineral Resource Management, and related sub-decrees
• Experience with production sharing contracts, mining licences, and power purchase agreements
• Understanding of environmental impact assessment requirements for extractive projects
• Fluent English and Khmer
