Human Rights & Justice Programme Associate — UNDP Cambodia, BKK1, Phnom Penh
UNDP Cambodia is seeking a Programme Associate for its Human Rights and Justice portfolio. Based in BKK1, Phnom Penh, you will support programmes focused on promoting access to justice, strengthening legal aid delivery, and monitoring human rights developments across the Kingdom.
Cambodia's justice sector reform is a priority for international development partners. This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of vulnerable populations through evidence-based legal development programming.
Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of UNDP's access to justice and legal aid programmes in target provinces
- Coordinate with the Ministry of Justice, BAKC, and legal aid providers on programme delivery
- Conduct field monitoring visits to courts, legal aid centres, and commune dispute resolution mechanisms
- Draft programme reports, briefing notes, and donor communications on human rights and justice
- Support capacity building activities for judges, prosecutors, and lawyers
- Contribute to research and analysis on access to justice barriers in Cambodia
Requirements
- 3-5 years' experience in human rights law, legal aid, or justice sector development
- Degree in Law or Human Rights; advanced degree preferred
- Knowledge of Cambodia's court system, the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC), and the Cambodian Human Rights Committee
- Experience in programme management, monitoring and evaluation, and donor reporting
- Understanding of gender-based violence legal frameworks and child protection laws
- Fluent English and Khmer
