In-House Corporate Counsel — Yoma Strategic Holdings
Yoma Strategic Holdings is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join our in-house legal team at the FMI Centre in Yangon. As one of Myanmar's largest conglomerates, Yoma Strategic offers a unique opportunity to work across multiple sectors including real estate, automotive, financial services, and agriculture.
You will manage corporate governance matters for the group's SGX-listed entity, draft and negotiate commercial agreements across the Yoma group, and advise on regulatory compliance with DICA, the Securities and Exchange Commission of Myanmar, and the Yangon Stock Exchange. The role also involves managing external counsel relationships and legal risk across the group's diverse portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Manage corporate governance for SGX-listed entity and Myanmar subsidiaries
- Draft and negotiate commercial agreements across the Yoma group
- Advise on securities regulation and Yangon Stock Exchange compliance
- Handle DICA filings, board resolutions, and annual compliance matters
- Manage relationships with external law firms across jurisdictions
- Identify and mitigate legal risks across the group portfolio
Requirements
- Qualified Advocate or international legal qualification
- Minimum 5 years of corporate or commercial law experience
- Experience with listed company governance and securities regulation
- Knowledge of Myanmar Companies Law 2017 and Securities Exchange Law 2013
- Understanding of real estate, financial services, or agricultural regulations
- Strong contract negotiation and drafting skills
- Fluent in Myanmar and English
