Job Description
Banco General, Panama's largest private bank, seeks an In-House Legal Counsel to advise on banking regulations, consumer protection, and regulatory compliance. You will work with the SBP (Superintendencia de Bancos de Panamá) framework to ensure all banking operations meet local and international standards.
Responsibilities
Review and advise on regulatory changes from the SBP. Draft internal policies for AML/KYC compliance. Support product launches by assessing regulatory requirements. Coordinate with the compliance department on examination responses. Represent the bank in regulatory inquiries and audits.
Requirements
Licenciatura en Derecho. Colegio Nacional de Abogados membership. 4-6 years of banking or financial regulatory experience. Knowledge of the Ley Bancaria and SBP Acuerdos. Experience with AML/KYC compliance frameworks. Bilingual Spanish/English.
