Job Description
ČEZ Group, the largest energy company in Central Europe, is seeking an IP and Technology Counsel for its Prague 4 headquarters. You will manage ČEZ's intellectual property portfolio, advise on technology licensing agreements, and support the group's digital transformation and smart grid initiatives.
This role involves working at the intersection of energy regulation, technology law, and intellectual property. You will handle patent filings with the Industrial Property Office (Úřad průmyslového vlastnictví), negotiate software licenses, and advise on data governance for smart metering and IoT deployments.
Responsibilities
Manage ČEZ Group's patent, trademark, and design portfolio. Negotiate technology licensing and software agreements. Advise on IP aspects of R&D partnerships and joint ventures. Handle IP disputes and coordinate with patent attorneys. Support digital transformation initiatives including smart grid and IoT legal framework. Ensure compliance with GDPR and Czech data protection for smart metering.
Requirements
Czech law degree (Mgr.) with 3-6 years of IP or technology law experience. Knowledge of Czech and EU IP law, including patent, trademark, and copyright. Experience with technology licensing, software agreements, and data protection. Energy sector experience advantageous. Fluent Czech and English.
