Junior Associate — Civil & Commercial Litigation

Carrillo & Asociados is seeking a Junior Associate for its Litigation practice in Guatemala City. You will assist senior lawyers in representing clients before Guatemalan civil and commercial courts, including the Juzgados de Primera Instancia Civil and the Sala de Apelaciones.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda for civil and commercial disputes
• Attend hearings at the Centro de Justicia and Juzgados Civiles in Guatemala City
• Research Guatemalan case law and Codigo Procesal Civil provisions
• Assist with enforcement of judgments and provisional remedies
• Prepare witness statements and documentary evidence for trial

• Support senior associates on active litigation matters
• Manage case files and deadline tracking
• Prepare case summaries and legal research memos
• Attend court hearings and assist with oral advocacy

• Licenciatura en Ciencias Juridicas y Sociales from a recognised university
• Colegiado activo with the Colegio de Abogados y Notarios de Guatemala
• 1-3 years post-qualification experience in civil or commercial litigation
• Fluent in Spanish; English proficiency an advantage
• Strong research and writing skills
