Šelih & Partnerji, one of Slovenia's leading full-service law firms, is seeking a Junior Associate to join our Employment Law practice in Ljubljana. This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified lawyer to build expertise in Slovenian and EU employment law, representing both employers and employees in a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape.
You will advise clients on compliance with the Zakon o delovnih razmerjih (ZDR-1, Employment Relationships Act), Zakon o varnosti in zdravju pri delu (ZVZD-1, Occupational Safety and Health Act), and the Zakon o kolektivnih pogodbah (ZKolP, Collective Agreements Act). The role involves preparing employment contracts, advising on restructurings, and handling disputes before the Delovno in socialno sodišče (Labour and Social Court).
Responsibilities
Draft and review employment contracts, termination notices, and workplace policies under ZDR-1. Advise employers on restructurings, redundancies, and collective consultation obligations. Research Slovenian and EU employment law developments, including the Directive on Adequate Minimum Wages and Platform Work Directive. Support litigation before the Delovno in socialno sodišče (Labour and Social Court). Assist with compliance audits on working time, annual leave, and occupational safety regulations.
Requirements
Magister prava from a recognized Slovenian university. Passed the Pravniški državni izpit (State Bar Examination) or working towards it. 1-2 years of experience in employment or labour law, or strong academic background. Knowledge of ZDR-1 (Employment Relationships Act) and EU employment directives. Fluent in Slovenian and English.
