Junior Associate — Technology & Data Privacy

Makarim & Taira S. is recruiting a Junior Associate for its growing Technology & Data Privacy practice at the Summitmas I building on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Jakarta. With Indonesia's new UU Pelindungan Data Pribadi (Personal Data Protection Law) coming into full effect, demand for data privacy advokats is surging. This is an ideal entry-level role in one of Indonesia's fastest-growing legal specialisms.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise clients on compliance with UU PDP (Personal Data Protection Law) and implementing regulations
• Conduct data protection impact assessments (DPIA) for technology companies
• Draft data processing agreements, privacy policies, and consent mechanisms
• Advise on e-commerce regulations under PP PMSE and GR 80/2019
• Research comparative data protection frameworks (GDPR, PDPA) for client guidance

Requirements

• LLB from a recognised Indonesian university
• Admitted as Advokat by PERADI (or PKPA completed)
• 0-2 years experience; technology law or IP background a plus
• Interest in data privacy, cybersecurity, and digital regulation
• Excellent English and research skills
