Job Description

Juriste d'Entreprise — BMOI

BMOI (Banque Malgache de l'Océan Indien) is hiring a Juriste d'Entreprise to join its in-house legal department at the Ankorondrano headquarters in Antananarivo. As a subsidiary of the BPCE Group, BMOI operates at the intersection of Malagasy banking law and international financial standards. This mid-level position involves providing legal counsel on the bank's daily operations, commercial contracts, employment matters, and regulatory compliance.

You will work alongside a team of experienced juristes handling everything from branch lease negotiations to complex structured finance documentation. The role offers exposure to both Malagasy legal frameworks and international banking practices, making it an excellent position for a lawyer seeking to develop expertise in financial services law.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal counsel on the bank's commercial operations and daily activities
  • Draft and negotiate contracts with suppliers, service providers, and partners
  • Advise on employment law matters including contracts, disputes, and HR policies
  • Support compliance with CSBF regulations and BPCE Group standards
  • Manage litigation matters and coordinate with external law firms
  • Advise on real estate matters including branch leases and property transactions
  • Prepare legal opinions and risk assessments for new products and services

Requirements

  • Master's degree in business law, banking law, or corporate law
  • 3-5 years of experience in corporate legal practice, preferably in financial services
  • Knowledge of Malagasy banking regulations and OHADA Uniform Acts
  • Experience with contract negotiation, employment law, and commercial disputes
  • Fluency in French; English proficiency for group reporting
  • Strong analytical and drafting skills
  • Familiarity with BPCE Group compliance standards is a plus
