Job Description
Labor & Employment Lawyer — Romulo Mabanta Buenaventura Sayoc & de los Angeles
Romulo Mabanta is looking for a Labor & Employment Lawyer to join its Employment and Immigration practice in Makati City. The attorney will advise employers on all aspects of Philippine labor law, from hiring to termination, and represent clients before the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
Key Responsibilities
- Advise employers on compliance with the Philippine Labor Code, DOLE regulations, and occupational safety and health standards (RA 11058)
- Handle labor disputes, illegal dismissal cases, and unfair labor practice complaints before the NLRC and Labor Arbiters
- Draft employment contracts, company policies, handbooks, and non-compete agreements
- Advise on collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), union negotiations, and strike management
- Assist with immigration matters including work permits (AEP) and special visa applications (PEZA, BOI)
- Conduct workplace investigations and advise on disciplinary procedures under due process requirements

Requirements
- Member of the Philippine Bar with active IBP membership
- 4-7 years of labor and employment law experience
- Thorough knowledge of the Philippine Labor Code, DOLE regulations, and NLRC rules of procedure
- Experience in NLRC litigation and voluntary arbitration proceedings
- J.D. or LL.B. from a recognized Philippine law school
- Strong negotiation, drafting, and advocacy skills
- Experience in immigration law is a plus
