Job Description
Legal Adviser (PSC) — DNO ASA, Erbil
DNO ASA is seeking a Legal Adviser to manage legal affairs relating to its production sharing contracts in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. This role involves working directly with the KRG Ministry of Natural Resources, joint venture partners, and DNO's Oslo headquarters on upstream oil and gas legal matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage legal aspects of DNO's production sharing contracts with the KRG
- Advise on upstream regulatory compliance with KRG Ministry of Natural Resources directives
- Draft and negotiate drilling contracts, oilfield service agreements, and procurement contracts
- Handle joint operating agreement governance matters with co-venturers
- Advise on local content obligations and community engagement legal frameworks
- Support corporate governance reporting to DNO's Oslo-listed parent company
- Manage external counsel relationships in Erbil and Baghdad

Requirements
- Law degree with specialization in energy law, oil and gas, or natural resources
- 4-8 years of experience in upstream oil and gas legal practice
- Knowledge of Kurdistan Region petroleum law and production sharing contract structures
- Experience with Norwegian or international corporate governance standards
- Fluent in English; Kurdish and/or Arabic language skills highly valued
- Willingness to be based in Erbil with occasional travel to Oslo and field locations
- Experience with listed company compliance (Oslo Bors, LSE, or similar) is a plus
