Legal Advisor — Investment & Trade

The Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) is hiring a Legal Advisor to join its team at the Bahrain Financial Harbour in Manama. You will support the EDB's mission of attracting foreign investment by advising on investment treaties, commercial licensing, and the regulatory framework for businesses entering Bahrain.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise on Bahrain's Foreign Investment Law and Bahrain Investment Market regulations
• Review bilateral investment treaties (BITs) and free trade agreements, including the US-Bahrain FTA
• Support foreign companies with commercial registration and licensing at the MOIC
• Draft investment promotion agreements and incentive packages for foreign investors
• Advise on the Bahrain Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) work permit requirements

• Prepare legal briefings for the EDB Board and government stakeholders
• Coordinate with MOIC, LMRA, and CBB on investor facilitation
• Participate in trade missions and investment conferences
• Maintain the EDB's legal knowledge base on Bahraini business laws

• LLB from a recognised university; LLM in International Trade Law or Investment Law preferred
• 3-5 years post-qualification experience in investment law, international trade, or regulatory affairs
• Bilingual in Arabic and English
• Knowledge of WTO agreements and GCC Common Market regulations
• Government or international organisation experience an advantage
