Job Description
Sedlabanki Islands (the Central Bank of Iceland) seeks a Senior Legal Advisor to provide counsel on monetary policy implementation, financial stability frameworks, and macroprudential regulation. This role supports Iceland's central banking mandate and involves advising on legislation shaping the country's economic governance.
Responsibilities
Provide legal counsel on monetary policy instruments and Central Bank operations. Advise on macroprudential tools including capital buffers, mortgage lending rules, and systemic risk designations. Draft legislative proposals and regulatory guidelines for the financial sector. Represent the Central Bank in international forums including the BIS and Nordic central bank cooperation.
Requirements
Cand.Jur. or LL.M. degree. 8+ years of experience in financial regulation, central banking, or public law. Extensive knowledge of the Central Bank Act and Financial Stability framework. Fluent in Icelandic and English.
