Legal Counsel — Corporate & Industrial

Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), one of the world's largest aluminium smelters, is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its Legal and Corporate Governance department. Based at Alba's facilities south of Manama, you will provide legal support across the company's commercial operations, procurement, and environmental compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate major supply agreements, offtake contracts, and procurement documentation
• Advise on compliance with Bahrain's Environmental Law (Legislative Decree No. 21 of 1996)
• Handle employment disputes under the Bahrain Labour Law for the Private Sector (Law No. 36 of 2012)
• Support corporate governance matters, including board minutes, AGM documentation, and Bahrain Bourse disclosures
• Manage insurance claims and industrial accident litigation

• Oversee all legal matters related to Alba's Line 6 expansion project
• Coordinate with external counsel on litigation and arbitration
• Advise HSE department on regulatory compliance
• Review government concession and land lease agreements

• LLB from a recognised university
• 5-8 years post-qualification experience in corporate, industrial, or energy law
• Licensed by the Bahrain Bar Society or an internationally recognised bar
• Bilingual in Arabic and English
• Experience with heavy industry or manufacturing legal matters an advantage
