CIEL's diversified portfolio — spanning Bank One (with I&M Group), Sun Resorts, Lux* Hotels, C-Care healthcare, and Alteo sugar — generates complex, multi-sector legal work that few in-house roles in Mauritius can match.

The Legal Manager will oversee corporate governance, M&A, joint venture structuring, regulatory compliance, and commercial contracting across all CIEL business verticals. The role involves engagement with the Companies Act 2001, the Banking Act 2004 (for Bank One), the Securities Act 2005 (SEM compliance), the Tourism Authority Act 2006, and employment law under the Workers' Rights Act 2019 — reflecting the remarkable breadth of CIEL's operations.

• Manage corporate governance and board compliance across CIEL Group subsidiaries
• Lead M&A transactions, joint venture structuring, and investment documentation
• Ensure regulatory compliance across banking, hospitality, healthcare, and agro-industry verticals
• Draft and negotiate commercial contracts, management agreements, and supply chain documentation
• Oversee SEM listing compliance and continuous disclosure obligations under the Securities Act 2005
• Manage external counsel relationships and legal budgets across all CIEL business units

• Barrister or Attorney admitted by the Mauritius Bar Council with minimum 7 years' post-admission experience
• In-house or law firm experience across multiple practice areas (corporate, banking, employment, regulatory)
• Knowledge of the Companies Act 2001, Securities Act 2005, and SEM Listing Rules
• M&A and joint venture experience in at least two of CIEL's sectors (banking, hospitality, healthcare, agro)
• Strong corporate governance and board reporting skills
• LL.B. from a recognised institution; LL.M. or MBA advantageous
• Bilingual English and French required
