Job Description
The Protimonopolný úrad SR is hiring a Legal Officer for its State Aid and Public Procurement Coordination Department. You will assess state aid measures for compatibility with EU state aid rules and coordinate Slovak compliance with the Zákon o štátnej pomoci (State Aid Act).
Slovakia receives significant EU structural funds, and proper state aid control is essential for their lawful distribution. This role involves reviewing aid schemes notified to the European Commission, advising Slovak ministries and regional authorities on state aid compliance, and monitoring de minimis aid through the Slovak state aid register.
Responsibilities
Review state aid measures and assess compatibility with EU state aid rules. Advise Slovak ministries and regional authorities on state aid compliance. Monitor de minimis aid and maintain the Slovak state aid register. Coordinate with the European Commission on state aid notifications. Prepare analyses on public procurement supervision matters. Research CJEU case law on state aid and public procurement.
Requirements
Slovak law degree (Mgr.) with 0-3 years of experience in EU law, competition law, or public procurement. Knowledge of EU state aid rules and the Zákon o štátnej pomoci. Interest in EU structural funds and public procurement directives. Slovak citizen. Fluent Slovak and English.
