Job Description
Loan Recovery & Debt Enforcement Lawyer — ACLEDA Bank, Phnom Penh
ACLEDA Bank Plc. is seeking a Lawyer to join its Loan Recovery and Debt Enforcement unit at the Head Office in Phnom Penh. You will manage the bank's non-performing loan (NPL) recovery process, secured asset enforcement, and litigation before Cambodian courts under the Civil Code (2007), Code of Civil Procedure (2006), and Law on Secured Transactions (2007).
As Cambodia's largest bank with a vast lending portfolio, effective loan recovery is critical. This role offers high-volume litigation experience and exposure to the Kingdom's enforcement regime.
Responsibilities
- Manage the bank's NPL recovery litigation portfolio across multiple jurisdictions
- Initiate foreclosure proceedings and enforcement of security interests under the Law on Secured Transactions
- Represent ACLEDA Bank before the Phnom Penh Municipal Court and provincial courts
- Negotiate debt restructuring and settlement agreements with defaulting borrowers
- Coordinate with bailiffs on court execution and asset seizure orders
- Provide legal training to branch loan officers on credit documentation and enforcement procedures
Requirements
- 3-5 years' PQE in banking litigation, debt recovery, or enforcement
- Admitted to the BAKC
- Strong knowledge of the Civil Code, Code of Civil Procedure, and Law on Secured Transactions (2007)
- Experience with mortgage enforcement, foreclosure procedures, and court execution
- Familiarity with the Phnom Penh Municipal Court and provincial court procedures
- Fluent Khmer; working English
