Job Description

Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP is seeking an Associate for its Government Affairs and Public Policy practice at its Ottawa office, located near Parliament Hill and the Federal Court of Canada. You will advise clients on federal government relations, regulatory advocacy, and public procurement matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on federal government procurement processes under the Government Contracts Regulations and CETA
  • Prepare submissions to parliamentary committees and federal regulatory consultations
  • Monitor proposed legislation and regulatory changes affecting client industries
  • Advise on lobbying compliance under the Lobbying Act and Lobbyists' Code of Conduct
  • Support clients in proceedings before the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT)

Requirements

  • Called to the Bar in Ontario or Quebec
  • 3-5 years post-call experience in government affairs, public policy, or trade law
  • JD/LLB or BCL from a recognized law school
  • Bilingual (English/French) strongly preferred for Ottawa
  • Experience with federal regulatory processes and government procurement
