Position Overview
Job Description
Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer is looking for an experienced Senior Associate to strengthen our Banking and Finance practice in Dusseldorf. Our team advises leading banks, financial institutions, and corporate borrowers on complex financing transactions including leveraged buyouts, project finance, and restructurings.
Responsibilities
- Advise on complex financing transactions including acquisition finance, project finance, and capital markets
- Draft and negotiate loan agreements, security documentation, and intercreditor arrangements
- Advise on regulatory aspects of banking law including BaFin requirements
- Manage transaction teams and coordinate with international offices
- Develop and maintain client relationships in the financial sector
- Mentor junior associates and contribute to knowledge management
Requirements
- Zweites Staatsexamen with Praedikatsexamen (minimum 9 points)
- 5-8 years of post-qualification experience in banking and finance law
- Admitted as Rechtsanwalt at a German Rechtsanwaltskammer
- Deep knowledge of German and international financing structures
- Experience with LMA-standard documentation
- Fluent in German and English; French is a plus
- Fachanwalt fuer Bank- und Kapitalmarktrecht preferred
