Senior Legal Advisor — Oil & Gas Contracts

Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) is seeking a Senior Legal Advisor to join the Legal Affairs Department at its headquarters in Shuwaikh, Kuwait City. KPC manages Kuwait's entire petroleum sector through its subsidiaries (KOC, KNPC, KOTC, EQUATE, PIC), and this role involves advising on the full spectrum of energy contracts and government procurement.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate upstream exploration agreements, refinery contracts, and petrochemical joint ventures
• Advise on government procurement under Kuwait's Public Tenders Law
• Manage international arbitration proceedings arising from construction and EPC disputes
• Review contracts with international oil companies and service providers
• Ensure compliance with Kuwait's Environmental Protection Law and HSE regulations

Requirements

• LLB from a recognised university; LLM in International Commercial Law or Energy Law preferred
• Licensed by the Kuwait Bar Association
• 7-10 years PQE in oil and gas, construction, or government contracts
• Experience with FIDIC Red/Yellow Book contracts
• Bilingual Arabic/English essential; must be comfortable drafting in both languages
