Internship Description
Access to Justice Intern — UNDP Cambodia, BKK1, Phnom Penh
UNDP Cambodia is offering an internship in its Governance and Rule of Law programme, focusing on access to justice and legal empowerment. You will support programme implementation, research, and monitoring of justice sector reform initiatives across Cambodia.
This internship offers unparalleled exposure to development sector legal work and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful justice reform in Cambodia, working alongside experienced international and national staff.
Responsibilities
- Support research on access to justice indicators and barriers in Cambodia
- Assist with monitoring visits to courts, legal aid centres, and commune councils
- Draft reports and briefing notes on programme activities and findings
- Help organise training workshops for legal aid lawyers and paralegals
- Compile and analyse data on legal aid case statistics and beneficiary demographics
- Support the development of knowledge products on rule of law in Cambodia
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a law, human rights, or development studies programme
- Interest in access to justice, human rights, and development law
- Basic understanding of Cambodia's justice system and court structure
- Strong research, writing, and communication skills in English and Khmer
- Interest in working with vulnerable communities and marginalised groups
- Ability to commit to a minimum 3-month internship; 6 months preferred
