About the Internship
National Bank of Bahrain (NBB), one of the Kingdom's oldest and most respected financial institutions, is offering a 3-month paid legal internship within its in-house Legal Department. Interns will support the bank's legal team on banking transactions, regulatory compliance, and contract management while gaining valuable exposure to the Bahraini financial services sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with reviewing and drafting loan agreements, guarantees, and security documentation
- Research Central Bank of Bahrain directives and their impact on banking operations
- Support the legal team in reviewing standard banking contracts and customer agreements
- Prepare legal research summaries on anti-money laundering regulations and KYC requirements
- Assist with corporate governance documentation and board meeting preparations
- Help maintain the legal department's contract management system and precedent library
Requirements
- Law student (penultimate or final year) or recent graduate from an accredited institution
- Interest in banking law, financial services regulation, or corporate law
- Strong written communication skills in English; Arabic proficiency preferred
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with basic financial concepts is an advantage
