Internship Description
Bennett Jones LLP is seeking Articling Students for its Calgary office at Bankers Hall East. This paid 12-month articling program focuses on energy, natural resources, and regulatory law, providing direct exposure to Alberta's leading energy legal practice.
Program Details
- Duration: 12 months (starting May 2026)
- Compensation: Paid — competitive Calgary articling salary

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with oil and gas transactions, farm-out agreements, and royalty calculations under Alberta's Mines and Minerals Act
- Conduct research on energy regulatory matters for AER and CER proceedings
- Draft regulatory submissions and compliance documents for energy clients
- Attend Court of King's Bench of Alberta hearings and AER oral hearings as observer
- Participate in firm's professional development and mentorship programs
Eligibility
- JD or LLB candidate graduating in 2026 from a recognized Canadian law school
- Eligible for the Law Society of Alberta articling requirements
- Interest in energy, natural resources, or environmental law
- Strong academic record and research skills
