Legal Intern – Energy Transition at Shell

Shell offers a paid legal internship in the Energy Transition legal team at our headquarters in The Hague.

About the Internship

You will support in-house counsel on renewable energy projects, carbon trading, hydrogen initiatives, and sustainability regulation. Tasks include legal research on Dutch and EU environmental legislation, reviewing contracts, preparing regulatory compliance summaries, and attending stakeholder meetings. This internship offers a unique window into how a global energy company navigates the energy transition.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Master in Law with interest in energy, environmental, or EU law
  • Available for a 3-6 month internship
  • Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus
  • Interest in sustainability, climate policy, and the energy sector
  • Strong research and writing skills
