Blockchain & Gaming Law Intern — WH Partners
WH Partners, Malta's leading technology and gaming law specialist firm, offers a cutting-edge internship in its Blockchain and iGaming practice at Ta' Xbiex. This placement provides hands-on exposure to MGA licence applications, VFA Act advisory, ITAS Act technology certifications, and the unique convergence of blockchain and gaming regulation that is distinctly Maltese — working at the global frontier of two of the most dynamic regulatory fields.
The intern will assist advocates on live mandates involving gaming operators, VFA service providers, and DLT platform developers — gaining practical experience that positions them at the forefront of Malta's tech law market upon qualification.
Responsibilities
- Assist with MGA licence applications and VFA service provider licensing documentation
- Research blockchain regulatory developments in Malta and the EU (MiCA, DLT Pilot Regime)
- Draft memoranda on ITAS Act technology arrangement certifications
- Support due diligence and compliance work for gaming and VFA clients
- Attend regulatory meetings with the MGA and MFSA
- Assist with drafting token sale documentation and smart contract legal reviews
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in the LL.D. programme or recently graduated from the University of Malta
- Strong interest in blockchain technology, iGaming, and technology law
- Basic understanding of the Gaming Act (Cap. 583), VFA Act (Cap. 590), and ITAS Act (Cap. 592)
- Tech-savvy with interest in crypto-assets, NFTs, and decentralised platforms
- Excellent English legal writing; coding or tech background a plus
- Available for a minimum 4-month placement
