Capital Markets Legal Internship — Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON)

The Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) offers a 6-month paid internship in its Legal and Enforcement Division at its Thapathali, Kathmandu headquarters. With Nepal's capital markets experiencing record IPO activity and retail investor participation on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), SEBON's regulatory workload has expanded significantly — creating opportunities for aspiring securities regulation professionals.

Interns will assist with IPO prospectus review, trading data analysis, and regulatory compliance monitoring under the Securities Act 2063. SEBON's Thapathali location near NEPSE and major financial institutions provides direct access to Nepal's capital markets ecosystem — an excellent foundation for a career in securities regulation or corporate law.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with review of IPO prospectuses and public offer documentation
  • Research securities regulation issues under the Securities Act 2063
  • Support the enforcement team with investigation documentation and data analysis
  • Monitor listed company compliance with disclosure and governance requirements
  • Attend SEBON training sessions and regulatory briefings
  • Prepare research memoranda on capital markets regulatory developments

Requirements

  • LL.B. from a recognised Nepali university (final year or graduate)
  • Interest in securities regulation, capital markets, and corporate governance
  • Basic knowledge of the Securities Act 2063 and Companies Act 2063
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail
  • English and Nepali proficiency required
  • Commitment to the full 6-month internship duration
  • No prior professional legal experience required
