IBL Group, Mauritius's largest conglomerate by revenue, offers a 12-month paid legal internship in its Group Legal Division at IBL House, Caudan, Port Louis. IBL's internship programme provides exposure to an extraordinary range of commercial legal work — spanning seafood (Princes Tuna), insurance (Eagle Insurance), logistics (Cargo Handling Corporation), real estate (BlueLife), and retail distribution across 300+ subsidiaries.

Interns assist with commercial contract review, employment law advisory under the Workers' Rights Act 2019, corporate secretarial compliance, and basic litigation support. IBL's Port Louis waterfront headquarters, adjacent to the Caudan commercial district and the Supreme Court, provides a dynamic in-house training environment for aspiring commercial lawyers in Mauritius.

• Review and draft basic commercial contracts, NDAs, and service agreements under supervision
• Assist with corporate secretarial compliance and board documentation for IBL subsidiaries
• Research employment law issues under the Workers' Rights Act 2019
• Support the legal team with basic litigation administration and external counsel coordination
• Attend legal department meetings and cross-functional business reviews
• Maintain the legal department's contract database and compliance tracking

• LL.B. from the University of Mauritius or equivalent recognised institution (final year or graduate)
• Interest in commercial law, corporate practice, and in-house legal work
• Good academic record in contract law, corporate law, and employment law
• Ability to work across diverse business sectors
• English and French proficiency required; Creole advantageous
• Commitment to the full 12-month internship duration
• No prior professional legal experience required
